Marie Lynn Miranda, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Nicholas School of the Environment and a member of the Integrated Toxicology Program faculty at Duke University. Dr. Miranda's research focuses on using state of the art understanding of the natural sciences to build better social science models and analysis. She directs the Children's Environmental Health Initiative at Duke, which is a research, education, and outreach program committed to fostering environments where all children can prosper.  CEHI’s work emphasizes the environmental health sciences and social justice components of risks borne by children in the United States and internationally.  Dr. Miranda serves as the Principal Investigator on a series of federally-funded highly interdisciplinary research projects involving faculty and staff from across the university.  Dr. Miranda also serves on a variety of local, state, regional, and national advisory boards focused on children’s environmental health.  She maintains a deep and abiding personal and professional interest in environmental justice.
